About Chippa United F.C.
Chippa United F.C. was formed in 2010 when Mr Siviwe (Chippa) Mpengesi acquired the status of Mbekweni Cosmos F.C., who were participating in the SAFA 2nd Division League, and he bought them toward the end of 2009. The club operates in East London in the Eastern Cape province and its home ground is Buffalo City Stadium in East London.
The club has a feeder team called Peace Makers F.C. and it has Under-17 and Under-19 teams. The club prides itself on having sports programs that develop and produce young and upcoming players.
Chippa United is working toward establishing an academy based at Philippi Stadium. It should be noted that the club has opened its doors and is used as a platform for youngsters from disadvantaged areas.
